Did you know that the secret to feeling more connected, calm, and vibrant might actually start in your gut? I am obsessed with oxytocin because it truly is a master signaling hormone that helps us manage stress and feel closer to the people we love. To keep my levels high, I’ve started making my own specialized yogurt at home using a specific strain called Lactobacillus Reuteri. Unlike store-bought options that are flash-made with thickeners, this homemade version is cultivated slowly to ensure it’s packed with the healthy bacteria your body needs. It’s a simple ritual that supports everything from glowing skin to emotional resilience and a healthy metabolism. Taking care of your internal ecosystem is one of the most powerful ways to show up better in your daily life and relationships.
Eating this special L. reuteri yogurt can help re-establish those colonies, leading to amazing benefits like better skin, healthier hair, and even a whittled waist! It’s one of my top longevity tips for winning the battle against aging.

Hi. You know, I love oxytocin. I think it’s like one of the best hormones we can possibly have lots of in our body for many reasons. But today, I want to show you how I make the yogurt that I eat uh that has lactobacillus rutery in it, which is the gut bacteria that you need to actually generate oxytocin. And I learned this from my dear friend Dr. William Davis. And what I’m going to do is I’m going to make yogurt. This is my current batch and I’m going to show you how to make it, what I make it with, all of the simple components and how darn easy it is. And then you’re not buying yogurt at the store in a plastic container. You’re not making a bunch of trash. That yogurt doesn’t have this bacteria in it. That yogurt has thickeners and gunk and a very low number of colonizing units because they flash make the yogurt. where the yogurt we’re going to make today is made over a 24 to 36 hours. You can make it for as long, you know, a few days of cultivation. So, the yogurt maker that I use is a brand called Lvelli. And the reason that I like it is that it’s a banarie, a water bath. So, essentially what’s in here is water. It heats up the water and the yogurt sits in the water rather than having to make it in the oven or using one of those more traditional yogurt makers that we’re used to here in the US that makes yogurt too fast at too high a temperature. The lactobacillus ruter is a delicate little bacteria and it needs a low temperature of about 100°. So, the first thing that I’m going to do is I’m going to take my extra container, and I’m going to pour the whey that’s in here, which is kind of the loose the loose watery fluid, which is full of bacteria. I’m just going to put that in there. And then I’m going to take a little just a couple of little spoonfuls of the yogurt itself and plop that in there just so I have enough. And just take a little bit more and stick it in there. Now, all I’ve got in here is just a little bit of yogurt and a little bit of whey. You can see it in the bottom of the container. See, it’s not that much. And then I’m going to I have already started it, by the way, with my rutery, which is the Lactobacillus rutery from Oxudics. Oxi Cu Ti CS. And I originally started with their first product, Gut to Glow. But um this is what I take when I’m on the road and I can’t eat my yogurt or if I just don’t feel like eating yogurt. Sometimes I’ll just take the gut to glows to keep that colonizing bacteria happening. Now the bacteria needs something to eat. And what I feed it is inulin. Inulin is basically made from it’s a soluble fiber which is what the probiotic likes to eat. So it’s the prebiotic. It’s thatum thing that makes the bacteria multiply. And I’m literally I don’t even really pay attention. I just kind of pour some in. So, I’m just pouring some in. I probably use too much. I don’t give a [ __ ] I’m happy. My life is good. And there’s my inulin powder and my yogurt. And I just get that mix going because it’s a little sticky. [music] Um, and so I just stir that up. And then I use half and half. So, I just use the half and half here, organic half and half. But, um, you can make it out of nutil. That thing is tight. You can make it out of nut milk as well. And you can make your own nutil with an almond milk maker. They make really nice nutil. You could make it with like uh cashew nuts, a little bit of coconut shredded, um, a couple throw in a couple of macadamia nuts for the uh good at uh the good fats. um that works too, but I like and I’m fine with dairy. It doesn’t bother me at all. And it makes such a rich and delicious yogurt. And so I just pop it in there. So then I just fill it up. It doesn’t quite use two. Oh [ __ ] I’m making a mess. Doesn’t quite use two containers, but close enough. And I just give it a little stir. Totally boop. I put the lid on top. Now I’ve got my milk, my my starter from the last one or my little capsules that I’ve put in here. If I’m starting for the first time, I would use eight to 10 capsules of the Lactobacillus probiotic. I will pop it in here, put it right in my banmarie, put the little lid on, plug it in, start it, put it in. It only goes up to 24 hours. So, sometimes I’ll just run it through two I’m plugging it in. Two 24-hour cycles. And I turn it on to It’s It’s very bright here. So, I decided to do the thing. And now I leave it. And when I’m done, I’ve got a whole fresh beautiful jar of yogurt. And what I love to do in the morning is I like to take a big scoop of whey and pop it in there. I like vanilla flavor. And I I stir that up. And then I throw some fresh fruit in there. And then I throw some sprouted nuts and seeds on top. And that’s a fantastic high protein breakfast. Sometimes I also make a smoothie with it. use frozen fruit, the yogurt, a little bit of nutmilk, and then all my protein powders and my collagens and all the things that I like to do, my prebiotics, my postbiotics. I like the sin biotic from Qualia. Um, you can really cultivate almost any any probiotics with uh yogurt. I’ve made various ones over the years, but I think the most important thing to remember is that you do want to cycle through different probiotics. You want to keep seeding your gut with different probiotics in addition to the lactobacillus rutery over time. Especially if you’re doing any antibiotics or anything like that, you really need to take care of your gut. So that’s it. It’s literally just some milk or half and half, some old yogurt that you already had around that you’d made before, you know, that you’re using rec creating a new batch or making it fresh from the Lactobacillus rutery and the inulin powder. 24 to 48 hours and you have the most healthy, delicious yogurt that is going to recolonize your gut so that you can produce tons of oxytocin, which makes you not only feel better, love people more, feel closer to people, but it helps manage your cortisol when you’re stressed out. And it turns out that oxytocin is very, very good. It’s kind of a one of the master signaling hormones that affects a lot of different parts of our health. And because most of us have taken antibiotics, we are very low in oxytocin production. And so reestablishing these colonies is so good for you. Eating this yogurt is so healthy. It’s also really good for your skin and your hair. I mean, it has so many benefits. It whittleles your waist. Before I started taking this, I didn’t have a whittleledin waist. I got thin right around here from taking this oxytocin yogurt. So there you go. This is one of my best longevity tips. And this is the kind of thing that I write about on my Substack newsletter called Longevity Wins. Because you may not win the war against dying, but you can win a lot of the battles. And this oxytocin yogurt is a winner. I’ll see you on the other side. Have a great day and stay healthy. Love you so much. Bye.
